Moving on up!
That is a song right?! haha. I just thought of that as I was thinking about my recent move! I have fun pictures to share!
Here is Jake and I. Snow was everywhere! Throughout the entire drive from California to Texas! I had packed the snow boots too!
New Mexico! Those are houses! I thought they were pretty cool!
More New Mexico! The plateaus were cool to look at.
Okay, so here is the story. Jake noticed that one of my tires was cracked, so we stopped in Albequerque to replace all the tires. He was getting worried about having a tire blow out. I thought it was a good dollar spent. Here is my VERY full Betsey (all christmas presesnts :)) with new tires. haha. She did us well on our trip back, thankfully.
Arizona. Arizona wasn't as pretty to look at.

Well, my mom is coming to visit me today! I'm excited, I needed her expertise to bake some goods. Hopefully she can help me settle in to the new house, too! All my stuff comes tomorrow morning, so how many things do you think got broken on the ride down in the storage container? haha I'm crossing my fingers that nothing, but am realistic when I say, 4 things. *sigh*
Oh, I stopped by my new job! Aren't they pretty? I'm excited. Although, finishing school still hasn't set in. I still wake up wondering what I still need to study for. I have a feeling those will continue for some time :) haha

I PASSED
I passed my defense!!! As scarey as the whole defense process was, I still passed. I'm so excited. You can now call me Master Lauren. haha just kidding. I feels good. I feel taller. :) Oh, my bf came to help me move and watch me defend. It was great that he was there. My mom also was there. Not in person, but on the internet watching from a web cam! I hope I made them proud :)
I'm packing up my little storage unit today, worried sick that everything won't fit.
I hope all is well. Thanks for stopping by!

Super Slacker!
Hey! I know I've been slacking in blog world! What have I been up too? Well, look at my little countdown off to the side!! I'm working on some finishing touches on my thesis which aren't really touches but time consuming changes! I'm at the 110 page mark on my thesis! As soon as I'm done, I'm going to burn it!!! and cackle like a witch *muahhahaa*. Make a little bonfire; it is getting a little chilly here.
Other than that, I've been hitting my last class ever and the job hunt has been on! I hope it all falls into place soon! It all has taken a toll on my stress level and the pH of my stomach!
The next time you'll hear from me will be either good news or...it WILL be good news :) BYE! have a great week!

MOooooooooooo!
I've been in southern California all month (and will be for the rest of October) doing a small consulting gig. Last week after the daily work, we travelled close to the border to a holstein feedlot. It was so neat!! Holsteins aren't your typical "beef" breed so it was interesting to see how it differed!
This feedlot owner grew all of his own feed! what a concept! Behind the three goof balls (past professors and friend) is his harvester and his sorghum field! It was intense. These guys wanted me to take their picture so they could send it back to there boss so he know that they were working. toooo funny.
I got to jump in this picture!
A friend of mine M was showing me all the details in the harvester. I had never used one before to I was eager to learn.
This is up inside of it! I'd hate to be behind this machine while it was working!
Front detail :)

This was a pen of holsteins! they were big fellas! They average about 1,100 pounds. This owner also was very environmental savey! He used baleing twine from his hay bales to create shade for these guys. haha. two thumbs up.
These are little bitty heifers. They will go to the milking stalls in January. sooooo cute! These are jersey cattle and cross bred jersey cattle.
This is fred, bob, and bill. haha. Holsteins are soooo curious!!! they came right up to us.
henrietta. She wanted some head shots :)
A cool picture I got of sorghum heads.
This rancher also had mexican cattle. If you look closely you can see a branded "M" on their rump (rear/bum). They are from mexico and are fed here in the in the US. That is why they are called mexican cattle.
haha. totally candid shot. but it totally looks like machos!
Last adventure! My friend from Kansas had never seen the ocean. I was excited that I could take him to see it for the first time.
haha. cowgirl at the beach! I had forgotten my flip flops. yes, I got plenty of stares...

Croppin' fun!
Today, I went online to do my daily scrapbooking sites stalking, when I fell upon create my keepsake crop! I had no idea! I was completely out of the loop! haha I'm oblivious a lot of the time! So it was 5PM and I was ready to scrap! I was able to complete 2 layouts! I was too excited! It was such a nice break from writing my thesis and working at school...
This layout was inspired by Leslie Ashe. It was her 4PM challenge about creating a layout around song lyrics! I picked this song that I'm digging by Josh Abbott Band (I am slightly obsessed with this group...I know, it is a little scarey). It is called electric skies. It is a beautiful love song about how with that one person, you love to do anything with them - even watch rain fall. My person is my bf. totally mushy. how cute is he!??!?!?! Our completely candid shot in Las Vegas.
This layout was inspired by Staci Taylor. Her challenge was to scrap a hobby. My new hobby is skiing! I'm still taking kiddie lessons, but I'm enjoying the sport hard core. I can't wait until the first snow fall!
